Macher*faktur – Rosalie Schmuck, Cornelius Thomas & Marie Trabant
Maker? Make? Make! The Macher*faktur is a mobile workshop trolley that comes to your local community centre by bike. Together with social workers and linked to a materials storage, the Macher*faktur can be equipped and accompanied for craft workshops. The aim is for the most populous age groups, senior citizens and young adults, to come together and learn from each other.
The Macher*faktur is about the exchange of digital and analogue skills. For this purpose, we have designed a mount for smartphones suitable for senior citizens that makes it possible to digitally record craft skills such as knitting or soldering. In this way, a digital archive of Tik Tok videos and a cross-generational and craft-based exchange of knowledge is created in cooperation. Based on the design of a market stall, the Macher*faktur can be unfolded and explored together – the aim is to promote communication through joint discovery.
The Macher*faktur is a first prototype that will be tested and further developed in a participatory way together with community centres and accompanied by us as designers.
