Aromatic oils such as lavender or lemon have a positive effect on the mind and body. They lift the mood, reduce stress, promote relaxation, improve sleep and support concentration. The positive effects on mind and body make them a natural support for well-being. We wanted to make use of this effect and combine it with a time-displaying object. That's why we decided to design an aroma diffuser that releases supportive fragrances at different times of the day. To give the fragrances enough time to fade, we divided the day into four sections: Getting up/morning, midday, afternoon and evening. Especially in rooms where people spend many hours, a rhythmized daily structure can promote well-being and productivity. As the perception of time in our project is perceived through the nose and not the eye, unlike most time-displaying products, we concentrated on a clear, minimalist design. The base is made of American walnut and the upper part with the funnel leading inwards is made of polymer plaster. Both are natural materials that are intended to contribute to the sensory perception of time.
