The idea behind the project was to design a timekeeper that tells you what time it is at the touch of a button. For many people, the topic of "time" means stress and pressure. The design makes it possible both to escape the visual sword of Damocles of a wall clock and to get the time yourself. The moment in which you place yourself in a temporal context is thus changed. As the protagonist in this situation, an object should be designed to which one can create an emotional connection, a helping sparring partner, so to speak, who gives the time and does not dictate it. Various parameters, such as shape and color, voice pitch and volume, but also materiality and haptics had an influence on the design process for the resulting prototype of the "Voicebuddy". Over the course of the semester, the concept touched on many different topics, such as accessibility, character design and user-friendliness. The Voicebuddy could be further equipped with timer and alarm functions or even voice profiles of your choice.
