Parametric Flowers
Shuyun Liu
“Parametric Flowers” is a project based on Grasshopper parametric modeling software and 3D printing technology to explore the connection between the physical world and digital aesthetics.
I wanted to use parametric design methods to create plants that look reasonable but don’t exist in nature. They look like flowers, but in a way they are not. Their shapes are not from nature, but are built and controlled based on curves and parameters. It changes with the parameters. The organic shape can be easily changed according to personal preferences. These flowers grow according to artificial physical principles, but these physical conditions are meant to explore the laws of natural aesthetics.
