The meaning of the root word “-oid” is “similar to, or related to something”. My project MOTIONoid therefore refers to the elaboration of a new dimension of styling based on the movement itself.
What can be achieved when parametric design and motion capture are combined? How can the moment of movement be preserved, interpreted and shown beyond the photograph? In this project I use Kinect and Grasshopper to explore the many possibilities of how to move from human to object, from visual to physical and how to interact directly between each two elements.
