PARKhaus

Finally open: After two years of renovation work, the Q1 parking garage at Anger 1 will be reopened, but exclusively for people and animals.
On Friday, August 2, Urban Development Senator Kaya Babacan (SFK) wants to release the new local recreation destination together with citizens and politicians of the city of Erfurt. Starting signal for the project was the inner-city driving ban zone for passenger cars five years ago. Urban planner and co-founder of the planning office KULT*RAUM Valeska Slahman said in an interview with ZDF: “The PARKhaus is intended to be a place where people and nature have equal rights and benefit each other. The overriding theme is always our interaction with nature. The wild one, which organizes itself almost exclusively, but also the cultivated, planted one. We have paid special attention to the irrigation of the plants. This runs through rainwater retention basins, which at the same time preventively counteract flooding.”
On the following Saturday, the celebration will continue from 11 a.m. to open end - there will be free gardening classes in the teaching garden, tours of the park decks, live music, the inauguration of the new playground and a rooftop beach. In addition, the Park.Deck.Dich restaurant will open, serving food with ingredients from PARKhaus.
