Graphic Visualisation
In the course of studying, but especially in professional life and in (interdisciplinary) project work, it is of the utmost importance to generate ideas, and to communicate them. The learning objective of the subject task is the learning and deepening of methodical design tools for generating and and communicating ideas and concepts. Through small exercises and sessions the participants developed their own repertoire of tools to formulate their own thoughts, ideas and concepts in a coherent way. They learned the basics of developing (low)complex topics, digital representation skills were deepened and they took the first steps in experimental 3D software.
Students worked with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Indesign, Miro online mood boards, Shared Docs, Sculptris / Sculpt GL and Blender.
In order to encounter these methodological complexes in a design-oriented way, the students researched the work of designers and implemented them as their own vector-based representations. In the second week they developed, speculated and fantasised in Sculptris and Blender to create new weightless and purely digitally designed object typologies. They then used the digital assets for HDRI renderings.
The project was the first subject assignment in the Corona semester 2020.
Everyone had to get used to working together at a distance and purely digitally on the computer. The tools Miro and Google Meet helped, to stay in contact with each other despite the shutdown.
