Neu geflochten – Johanna Eger, Emma Prix und Mareike Galle

Neu geflochten is a series of material experiments with which we investigate how used polypropylene strap can be upcycled with braiding techniques. Starting with an examination of Viennese braid, we tested the potentials that this material develops when woven with different techniques.
We’re extending the life cycle of the strapping band, which is otherwise only used once. The result is new proposals and perspectives
on an aesthetic and sustainable level. A first formulation of these experiments is a stool.
