2D Drawing

Part of the Design Fundamentals

A line is the trace of a movement - or the back of a rhinoceros?

Two lines possibly create a space, a surface sets a weight, a format is a decision, a graphic structure allows a surface to be sensed, a blob can be an oversight and an eye at the same time.

In the 2D / drawing and visual design module, the focus is on experimentation and observing nature. The focus shifts from the impression of a situation to the smallest details and back again, whereby the dialogue between the seeing eye and the drawing hand becomes tangible. Contemporary positions and works from art history inspire and illustrate fundamental principles of design. The city of Halle, the botanical garden and the ‘Landesmuseum für Vorgeschichte’ State Museum of Prehistory offer complex situations that can be responded to in a variety of ways. Excursions to European metropolises make collecting handwritten sketchbooks a matter of course.
Conceptual thematic explorations lead to a wide variety of pictorial solutions and personal visual languages. Serial processes can lead to filmic works that reflect the narrative and time-based perception of images.
