Design and artistic fundamentals deal with the general phenomena of design.

The formation of a creative repertoire and the development of creative thinking are among the aims of the 3 basic modules 2D, 3D and 4D. Within these thematic areas, investigations are carried out on the surface, on the object and in space using analogue and digital media.

Line, drawing, graphic structure, signs and writing, form and colour, material and surface, light, space, photography, video, staging and exhibition are among the elementary means of expression of a creative examination.

The practical examination of the various subject areas gives rise to a wide-ranging discourse that transcends disciplinary and subject area boundaries. The overlapping and networking of different disciplines creates a basic understanding of design that remains open to crossing boundaries
