Daily streams featuring artist talks, design graduates, maker stories and a bit of music will get you closer to the people and projects from that favourite place on earth we call BURG.

This year, the annual Dutch Design Week (17.–25.10.2020) is taking place in a semi lockdown situation in the Netherlands. The Dutch Design Foundation organisation decided to develop a special platform to host the event in an alternative way – The Virtual Design Festival.

Prof. Aart van Bezooijen and Robert Haslbeck (Burg gestaltet! Qualitätspakt Lehre) decided to team up with our university’s last minute radio team (Wayra Aguilar, Luka Löhner, Tim Mayer, Farid Taher, Jakob Eskofier - aka Burgfunk) to give our art and design graduates a platform and the necessary visibility for the so called life after BURG.

The exhibition brings together the art and design work of recent graduates featuring tangible products, augmented realities, fashion design, photography installations, textile arts and design, crafted jewellery and new ways of manufacturing reflecting the diversity of our art and design departments.

»Burg On Air« is a podcast programme developed to turn your virtual visit into a real auditory experience. During nine days, we broadcast from the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle, a place we call BURG. In times of social distancing probably as close as we can get.

See the participating graduate projects below and enjoy the daily podcasts at »Burg On Air« from 17–25 October 2020.

We stream the gap, you take care.
