1969 Born in Püttlingen/Saar. 1989–1996 Communication Design studies at the University of Applied Sciences Mainz. 1996–1998 Graphic Design studies at the California Institute of the Arts, Valencia/USA. 1998–1999 Design assistant to Jeffery Keedy in Los Angeles. 1999–2000 Teacher of typography at the University of Applied Sciences Mainz. Since 2000 Freelance typeface and graphic designer in Berlin. 2003–2005 Guest lecturer at Bergen Academy of Art and Design/Norway. 2005–2008 Adjunct professor there. 2004 Establishment of own fontlabel: typecuts. 2007 Guest professor at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle. 2007–2008 Interim professor there. Since 2008 Professor at BURG, Design Faculty. 2010–2014 Pro-rector of Communication. 2010 Appointment to the Art Council of the Federal Ministry of Finance. Numerous national and international publications, exhibitions and awards.
